The Young African Researchers in Agriculture (YARA) network brings together young and early career African researchers in agriculture from all over the Continent in a new peer network. YARA has members in about 18 African countries (South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, DRC, Malawi, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Togo, Benin, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, and Madagascar) but the aim is to expand its presence in all African countries. The majority of YARA members are PhD candidates currently studying in various universities in Africa, Europe, Asia, USA and Canada; or those who have recently completed their PhDs. But the network also welcomes other young researchers with knowledge and expertise in Land Governance, Property Rights, Models of Agricultural Commercialisation, Rural Livelihoods, Food Security, and Climate Change issues in Africa.
